OBJECT OF THE GAME

Thirteen is a four player card game with the goal of playing all of your cards before the other players. A player gets rid of their cards by playing them in hands.

RULES OF THE GAME

When it is Your Lead

  • You can play any hand type

When it is not Your Lead

  • You can only play a hand that is the same type as the last hand played
  • The hand must end in a higher card than the last hand played

2s are the highest cards in the game, then an Ace and then the normal sequence of playing cards down to a three.

HAND TYPES

  • Single (1 card)
  • Double (2 cards of the same value)
  • Triple (3 cards of the same value)
  • Straight (3 or more cards in a row)
  • Suit (a Straight that is all the same suit)
  • Chop (a Straight of Doubles)
  • Bomb (4 cards of the same value)

EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULES

A Straight can only beat another Straight if they are the same length

A Bomb can beat any hand except for a Bomb of higher value
